View information: Stage 1 will be visiting the NSW Rail Museum to kick off our History unit with a bang! This experience will provide a fantastic opportunity for students to investigate how technology has evolved over time and explore the rich history of our local area. Travel will be by bus, equipped with seat belts. Due to the size of Stage 1, Year 1 will be going on Thursday 25 July and Year 2 will be going on Friday 26 July. Location: NSW Rail Museum, Thirlmere Cost $40.00 per student. Payment can be made online through SchoolBytes or cash. Financial assistance is available if required. What to wear: Students must wear their school uniform with joggers and a hat. They will need to bring recess, lunch and water in a small backpack. There will be no opportunity to buy anything, so students will not require any money. Please pack a raincoat (no umbrellas) if rain is forecast. Arrival at school: Students are to arrive at school between 8:30am and 8:45am to allow teachers to mark rolls and get students prepared for a 9:00am departure. Returning to school: With traffic permitting, we will be returning to school at 3:00pm. For safety reasons, all children will be required to walk with their teacher to the COLA when arriving back at school. Please do not collect your child as they disembark the bus. Children will be dismissed at 3:00pm from under the COLA. Stage 1 teachers will be the supervising teachers. Please return permission note and payment by Friday 5 July 2024.

Year 6 will be attending Woonona High School for the Community of Schools CoS Year 6 Days on Monday 26 February, Monday 27 May and Monday 19 August 2024. These days are part of Woonona High School’s CoS transition plan which is designed to help prospective students become accustomed to the teachers, students and surroundings of Woonona High School. Year 6 students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities including Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) investigations in laboratories and workshops, Humanities inquiry-based learning projects and Creative and Performing Arts mini production in specialist spaces including Drama theatre and Visual Arts studio spaces. As all experiences in high school settings are valuable, all Year 6 students are expected to attend this excursion, regardless of future high school preference. ● Location: Woonona High School ● Time: Meet at Woonona Public School at 8:45am. Students will return to school from 2:00pm ● Transport: Students will walk to Woonona High School accompanied by Stage 3 teachers ● Wear: School uniform and school hat ● What to bring: Recess and lunch (the canteen will be open but it cannot be guaranteed that any food will be left available after the HS students have had recess/lunch), water bottle and sunscreen Please return the permission note directly to classroom teachers by Friday 23 February.
